If you're going to use articles as a means to optimize your internet marketing, there are a few simple steps to preparing one that you need to consider.
Think about your biography first. It's like a business card. Make sure that every article you prepare has a biography that "sells" you and provides one or more back links to your web site. Note that some sites will restrict you to one link.
For the article itself, choose a topic that is relevant to your own business and marketing objectives. Then, research keywords that are related to the topic being careful to select words that are appropriate but have a high popularity. Make a list of the top two or three keywords or keyword phrases for your topic.
Then, write the article. Make sure you incorporate the keywords at least two or three times within the article. For example, if the keyword phrase is "internet marketing" make sure there's a sentence that uses it - perhaps, something like "If you want to optimize your internet marketing, here's a good way...." It's important to note that articles don't have to be big. Generally, articles should be between 250 and 750 words.
Once your article is complete, spell check it and grammar check it to make and read it once more just to be sure. Then post it to your own site or blog, and, ideally, submit the article one of several article distribution services. Articlewheel.com or ghostwriters.com are two good examples.
